I don’t often see this type of quality

Oak Bluff Colony Farms Ltd, a 3,700-acre farming community near Morris, Manitoba, has embraced innovative solutions to enhance sustainability and efficiency, perfectly aligning with MB Crusher’s principles: reduce, reuse, recycle. But what struck Mr. Jack Maendel, the Colony's Secretary-Treasurer, more was the impressive quality of the equipment he saw during a Demo at World of Concrete, Las Vegas. He spoke about it with us during a very detailed interview.

Are you looking for top quality recycling attachments?

The quality of the manufacturing was very impressive

Jack Maendel, the Colony's Secretary-Treasurer, discovered MB Crusher during visits to the World of Concrete exhibitions in Las Vegas, United States. Impressed by the machinery's ability to transform large concrete pieces into usable aggregate and the evident quality of manufacturing, Mandel saw potential applications for their operations. From his words:

‘’I've gone to the world of concrete for several years and they had a prominent spot outside with big piles of concrete and watching their machines chomp through large pieces of concrete and reducing it down to a usable aggregate was pretty impressive to watch. And then also looking at the quality of the manufacturing, that was also very impressive.’’
’I don't often see that type of quality. MB Crusher, the engineering behind it, the way they were assembled, the way they're made. The quality of the material, the strength of the material, quality of the welds and the ease of replacing parts when needed. That was all very impressive to me. And I am very, very impressed with MB Crusher's quality of manufacturing and also ease of use.

Do you want to turn concrete and debris into reusable aggregate?

A long (and very productive) story

The farm invested in three MB Crusher attachments: the BF70.2 jaw crusher , the MB-S14 trommel bucket and the MB-HDS320 padding bucket. All these tools enabled the Colony to process materials on-site, significantly reducing the need to purchase and transport resources from distant suppliers.

The BF70.2 crusher bucket proved to be the ideal solution in recycling concrete from an old hog barn. It efficiently crushed concrete slats with embedded rebar, producing gravel for maintaining unpaved farm roads and extracting rebar for scrap metal sales.
‘’we have an old hog barn that we were repurposing, so we had a lot of concrete slats with rebar inside. And the design of the MB Crusher was very, very good for recycling concrete slats because you could feed long slats through it and the rebar came out on the other side without... It came out without even being bent up, so that was pretty impressive.’’

The MB-S14 screening bucket, equipped with a 10x10mm basket insert, effectively screened sand from a nearby lake, separating gravel and allowing the sale of surplus materials to local businesses.

Additionally, the MB-HDS320 padding bucket processed topsoil by removing stones, enhancing soil quality for crop cultivation.  ‘’ the shaft screener was great for recycling our topsoil and turning it into a nice usable product’’ . One attachment, many applications: they could fulfill different tasks through the use of their MB-HDS320, such as sift topsoil from rocks, mix topsoil and sand, reclaim old asphalt with precise dimensions.

Is it suitable for my heavy machine?

Very quick ROI with MB Crusher’s recycling fleet

We asked Jack Maendel how would they manage all these tasks before using MB Crusher’s attachments and the answer was that,in the case of the concrete slats , they would simply dig a hole and bury them. But now with his new recycling fleet composed by a jaw crusher, a trommel bucket and a padding bucket he had the quickest return of investment by just recycling and treating materials directly on site and with his heavy machine without having to purchase new raw materials!

’ We had piles of concrete slats and the footage that I had sent to you shows those piles of slats. And the option was to dig a hole and bury it and then it's gone. But if we ran it through the crushing bucket, we could turn it into aggregate that we can use. Because we buy a lot of crushed limestone and we have to haul it from quite far away. So the savings there would have been enough to pay for the bucket. And then also the topsoil, we were purchasing topsoil from commercial soil providers that were also an hour away. So we had to haul in soil and if we used the shaft screener, we could use our own soil that we have here.’

I don’t often see this type of quality

Maendel emphasized the high-quality construction and engineering of MB Crusher's equipment, noting the strength of materials, precision of welds, and ease of part replacement.
He recommends MB Crusher to others seeking efficient solutions for

  • concrete recycling,
  • aggregate size reduction,
  •  material screening.

In summarizing his experience, Mr. Jack Maendel described MB Crusher as synonymous with quality, well-made products, and a great company to work with.
